Hiatus

Due to personal issues, the Accidental Squirrel is taking a hiatus at this time. I am unsure of the duration, and apologize to all of you who have been supporting us. Please keep us in your thoughts that the troubles will pass. Much love and squirrely laughter.

UBCon wrap-up!

We had an awesome weekend at UBCon!
Thank you to everyone that stopped by to see us!

There were loads of amazing artists and vendors! We saw lots of our friends from last year and made several new ones. We made a lot of sales and couldn't be happier about the outcome :)

Over the next few weeks we will be posting the remaining inventory here, on our Etsy site and on facebook.
So if there is anything that you missed, keep an eye out!

And don't forget that we are OPEN for commissions of every kind! Bottles, dice, squirrels and art!
Just drop us an email at Orders @ AccidentalSquirrel (dot) Com!

Thanks again for a great weekend and hope to see you all at Mini-Con!

Final Countdown!

Less than  a week left before UBCon23!

We've gotten all but about half a dozen of our bottled jewelry pieces finished. The squirrels have taken over the house. The prints and cards are already boxed up and ready to go along with our fliers, pins and business cards.
Shad's making a big push over the next week to get more of the dice done after the Creeping Crud took over the house and left him fighting off a Muck Demon for the last few weeks. After a break with family tomorrow for Easter we'll be doing the last push of parts and prop shopping to make sure we can cover the tables and display all our stuff.

We'll also be selling some work by a friend of mine, Ladyelf, that is in dire straights at the moment. Her prints will be for sale at our table over the weekend. She's surprising me with what she's sending, but you can be sure her work will be amazing! You can view some of her older work here: [link]

And just as a reminder - Commissions ARE open!
We will be taking custom orders for everything all weekend!
So if you don't see something that you'd like, just let us know!
Depending on what is ordered Shipping will either be free or $2 - $5.
And if you're local, we can also arrange to drop something off directly.

Hope to see you there!!

You can see more product images on our Facebook Page.

WOW!!

As of this post, we are *just* over 28 days to the Con!

It has been a rollercoaster of a month (and I do mean since Mid-February)!

There were some moments where we weren't sure whether the fates were going to cooperate with us financially, or transportationally as far as the Con was concerned, but at the moment, it looks like things have smoothed themselves out and we're back on track!!

We've had multiple shipments of things come in this week to finish up our jewelry. We've revamped our keychains and they look completely awesome! The ArtCards and prints are in and look amazing! The squirrely plush's are taking over the house. The bottles and charms are moving along slowly, but surely. Tables are paid for and final plans are in the work for the Con. AND I'm double-checking with two buddies of mine to lay out some of their wares as well!!

The only things I need to report that might not happen is the wooden items.
Our weather of late has been far too sporadic to get any decent work done, and painting anything is prettymuch out of the question due to the amount of moisture in the air.

Once we move into some more stable weather, Shad will get back to experimenting with those and updates will come up on the site as he does. I for one am excited to see some of the things he has in his head come to fruition!!

Going back to the Keychains - Anyone who bought one from us last year - if you bring it back to the Con and let us know - WE WILL UPGRADE IT FOR FREE!!  The new ones are studier, more flexible and just way cooler than last year's model! And as always, we want happy customers!

I still have pins to order and Shad and I need new duds to wear, but all in all, we're down to the pinning and threading stage of it all.

I know we have a couple of fans out there that are excited to see what we have coming up and we are really excited to see the great people we met last year again.

If anyone out there wants to pre-order and have us set something aside for them so we can make sure what you want doesn't sell before you arrive - LET US KNOW!

See you in 4 weeks!!

The Plushies are Coming!!!

We have been working hard to get the plushies done so that we can move on to other things.
Every one of these is sewn by hand, so it's a bit slow going, haha.

Currently, we have three different styles (please pardon my desk clutter... :)

On the left in black, you can see the sitting squirrel logo, which is a flat, pillow-type plush. The grey, brown and black, long "fallen squirrel" logos are also flat pillow types. In the center, we have a 3-d type sitting logo squirrel who will come in various sizes. We will also have a few different sizes of him. Some will have dice (12's, 20's and 10's) others will not.

Here is another image of our 3D-type sitting squirrels :)

We will be selling the flat squirrels for $5 each. The large size sitting plush (he is 9 inches) will be $15 and smaller versions of him (they are about 6 inches) will be $10. We will take pre-orders for larger sizes.

Because they are hand-sewn no two will be exactly alike. We are also using a variety of fabrics for varying textures so some are super fuzzy, while others are simple felt.

Art Cards!

Well, we've decided on our 15 card set for UBCon!

We are only doing one printing for the convention (which means we will have 15 of each card available) and the limited edition card will be available for THIS CONVENTION ONLY!

We will be selling 3 full sets for $20 each and will have
12 of each card (11 of the Limited Ed.) Available for $1.50 each.

The Limited Ed. Card will be sold for $2 each and will be signed and numbered on the back.

The other 14 cards of this set will be reprinted at a later date (basically, as I run out of them), but the Limited Card will NOT be printed a second time. (For those in the know, this will go for all cards featuring Orchid, or any characters from Lost Hopes).

If you would like a card, or a set of cards from THIS RUN and are NOT going to be at the convention, please let me know ahead of time, and I will set them aside for you.

Inventory Weekend - Part 1

Massive inventory count this weekend to see where we're at with what we've got. :)
We've bought so many things in the past month that we'd like to do and get finished for April!

We have lots of different styles of earrings, necklaces and charms. This includes our dice jewelry, which has taken on a facelift and a bit of an upgrade. Also, we will have several different bottle charms available as pendants and earrings. We'll also have pins this year (to purchase, or free with another purchase).

In the "Art Department" we're planning on Prints, Art Cards and possibly Bookmarks. The ArtCards will be sold individually or by the set of 12. Some of the cards will be Limited Editions (and I will not have any more printed after this Con). I'll be selling the prints on hand, as well as taking orders for anything from my Art Book or for larger sized prints.

The plushie production is slow going due to my (sometimes bad) habit of trying (too many) new things. There are currently three sizes of the Squirrely Logo plushie and three other styles that I have been toying with. We will more than likely have several of the smaller plushies available, with a handful of the medium size.

The Woodworking will be display and commission only. Shad is going to bring as many items as he can for the Con to show what is available, however the variables to make these will prevent him from having sale items at the Con. At the moment, we are planning on Busters, Keyblades, maces and swords, though if there is time, we may have more items on display. He is also planning on putting a book together of the various finishes and models available which may show some of the prototype models that he has rooting around the Dungeon.

If you are looking for anything specific from us, please let us know so we can be sure to have it on hand! Tell us your favorite prints and what dice colors or designs you'd like to see and we'll do our best to make sure we get them in time for the convention :)

The nuts...

Just as an FYI for those who have been asking:

Our Wooden Weaponry and Cosplay Weapons are going to be "Commission Only" or "One Shot" items until further notice. We may have a handful of mini anime swords (Busters), mini-maces and possibly a few other things on hand, but because of "various elements beyond all squirrely control" we cannot guarantee the content of the stock for any extended period of time. If anyone is interested, feel free to drop us a line. :)

Gearing up for UBCon 23!!!

Well, I've just sent off an email to the Artist Liasons for UBCon23!

We're super excited for this year, as we have so much more to display, sell and offer in general!

Shad will have several of his wooden weapons to display as well as some to sell. We are hoping to have a nice selection of Japanese weapons (katana, wakisashi, throwing stars, masamune...) as well as your medieval ones and some anime-esque pieces as well.

I will have a much wider selection of prints to sell this year at much lower pricing than last year thanks to being able to print from home! So I will have 8x10's on hand for $10 and will be taking orders for larger pieces & commissions.

We will also have a much wider selection of jewelry (and yes, we will have squirrels!) with a more "jewelry-like" quality to them. The cost will be lower, with a slightly higher cost for sterling and just about everything will be "mix-n-match" for findings!

I am still working on the plushies and other silliness as well, so this year we will be looking at two full tables and a LOT more to look at.

We've even thought about a couple little surprises ;)

Hope to see you there!!!

April 13th - 15th, 2012!!
